All I want's some earth and seed But only grow the things I need "Well, I'm not good company. I don't know anything to talk about, and you are about the first dog I've talked to other than my opponents. So I don't really know how to.. socialize." Well that's sad. The borzoi dropped his head down a bit as she spoke. "Well there is always time to learn," he winked, swiping his tongue over his dried lips - a nervous habit, "What we're doing right now is socializing, so you do know how," he flashed an encouraging toothy smile, "And I think you're plenty good company. I mean, you may be a bit difficult, but it's fun talking to you."
Again, those creaky foot steps pierced his ears, and this time they did not disappear. The creme au lait Borzoi began to shake frivolously, his legs dancing, long snake-like tail twisted between his legs. He wasn't going to flee, even though he really, really wanted to. That'd be incredibly rude; his mama (who was quite a wise dog) always told him that no matter what you leave no one behind. He turned his apprehensive gaze back to the liver and white dog, waiting for her to say something, anything to break the unnerving silence that ensued.

Crescendo sighed. " I suppose. But what I meant is I don't know how to socialize well." She paused, listening to his words. Then she heard that she was 'difficult.' She leaped to her paws, bristling and growling, " Difficult? You are difficult, y-" She stopped abruptly, the echoes of footsteps reaching her cropped ears. Instantly she was snarling, looking for the human. " Borzoi. Turn around. Where's the human?" She sniffed, smelling him, but Grendol was in her line of vision. tag grendol words 124 music watching cupcake warss~ notes oh dear.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

i'm a mountain that has been moved. i'm a fugitive that has no legs to run
"Borzoi. Turn around. Where's the human?
" He did just as he was told, abruptly too. His blackened nose shifting, nostrils flaring as to let in the most smell possible. Ears perked to their highest point. " It kind of sounds like... or rather smells like, they are just past that dumpster." He gestured to a lone metal garbage holder a ways down the alley. Legs ready to move at any moment - he was born to run, instincts screaming at him to do so. " Maybe, Crescendo, we should get out of here? They seem to be coming closer and the last place I want to go is the p-" he stopped himself, even thinking of the that place made him shudder - memories stabbing at his heart. Seemingly endless lithe stilts carried him past his new acquaintance. tag: crescendo music: still brand new notes: my muse just died. e.e. how pleaaaasant. [/blockquote]

"It kind of sounds like... or rather smells like, they are just past that dumpster. Maybe, Crescendo, we should get out of here? They seem to be coming closer and the last place I want to go is the p-"
Crescendo laughed. " Fleeing is for cowards. No. Just watch. I'm doing what I've known my whole life." With a twinkle in her eye she set towards the human. Her fur moved as she gained speed until she was loping. It didn't take but but a minute to reach the dumpster in question, and when that happened, she heard the human start to talk. She chuckled under her breath before growling, causing the human to gasp and hurtle backwards. She couldn't see them very well in the shadows, but it didn't matter. Her muscles bunched and she leaped, snarling and landing on his chest with her claws. He immediate hit her with his fists, but from the other human she was used to it, even if her sides were bruised and sore. She didn't want to kill this human; not yet, at least. She wanted to toy with him, possibly scare the young Borzoi. The Border Collie mix saw a dark hand moving to hit her face, and she twisted herself so the fist zoomed right back her head and her mouth closed right on the arm. It was tricky precision, but two years toned the move to perfection. Her teeth sank into the flesh, she tasted iron filled blood, and she smiled. The human managed to roll away from her, but she had a grip on his arm now, and she locked her jaws and planted her feet, ignoring the blows. " Hey, Borzoi, c'mere." The human shook his arm, hit her in her face, squeezed her nose, but she wouldn't go loose. I don't want to let you go. But it hurts my hands to hold the rope
Mad! That dog was absolutely, without a doubt, irrevocably mad. All Grendol could do was watch her rip at that mans arm, his jaw dropped. "Hey, Borzoi, c'mere." He really could not process what she had said. It was frightening enough just to be that close to a human, let alone willingly walk up to it -- especially while they were in combat mode. "Umm... Umm... Why? Do you need help? Should I go get someo-" Then the voice in his head told him to 'stop talking and walk forward, nimrod. This dog is a beast!' He took two cautious steps forward, moving him in total of about 10 millimeters, just to please his inner-voice. But after all she was now his acquaintance and you don't just leave your acquaintances, even though all he wanted to do was flee.

"Umm... Umm... Why? Do you need help? Should I go get someo-"
Crescendo chuckled, and when the Borzoi moved forward (only two tiny steps) she released the human. He stumbled back, away from her, before running past them and into a side door to his apartment. After the door shut she laughed right out, her tongue lolling and scarlet dripping from the moist organ. It took her minutes to stop, but when she finally did, she let out a heavy breath and turned towards the Borzoi. " So, Grendol. Like the show? I told you that's who I was, and you didn't seem to really understand. Poor poor human. Normally I would have just waited for him to go, only attack if he attacked, but you need to see what I am. I could have gone farther, but you seem so young, too innocent to see the true horrors of the world. I doubt you would have really understood if I had, either way. But, Borzoi, I have a question for you." She walked up to the dog, looking him in the eye. We live in a jar and think the lid's the sky. Your hoping for a savior on your cross outside.
The Borzoi was beyond relieved when she released the man - mildly concerned for his well-being, (oddly enough) - but relieved. "Do you really want to be my friend, despite all these treacheries I have committed?" Why she was so intent on getting him to hate her he was unsure of. But he did know that he did not hate her, or fear her. Sure, he feared the situation, the human, the fighting: but he certainly didn't fear Crescendo. He'd seen much, much worse in his lifetime. Namely his pup-times. 'She's crazy, Grendol. Don't trust her,' his mind shouted, screamed at him. He shook it off. "Yes I still want to be your friend Crescendo," he was extremely hard headed, he knew it too. Chocolate eyes looked right back into hers, with a certain sober gleam to them. "You don't give up on anyone, Grendol, no matter how crazy they may seem," that's what he was taught, and that he would do!

I can't stand, I can't see my way. I feel blind on my feet. When she released the man Grendol looked relieved, and she did her best to hold in the insane laughter that would surely ensue from her, but she managed, maybe letting a hiccup or two of chuckles out.
"Yes I still want to be your friend Crescendo."
This surprised Crescendo. She was expected fear, horror, any negative emotion, and then a run from her without much to say or think. This pleased her though, for the kid had guts, and maybe, just maybe, he'd be a good... acquaintance. Even his eyes were sobered, staring back into hers with more intelligence then a dog his age should have. She must have underestimated him; a big mistake on her part, and she wished she could smack herself for it (one huge rule of dog fighting, don't underestimate your opponent.) but what was done was done and she had learned and this meeting was most definitely not a waste.
"Oh," she said lamely. Smooth Crescendo, the big talker with an even bigger bite, was speechless. She didn't know what to say. Well, other than 'oh' at least.
I can't stay too long. Am I wrong?
